Since each background track is actually a midi sequence, using a computer in conjunction with Improv Made Easy will provide additional benefits that normal cassette tape cannot. Using Midi to generate the background tracks will enable you to:

Transpose to any key.
Play the background at any speed without changing the pitch.
Isolate and loop a particular section of the form for practice.
Record your own solo via a Midi keyboard or wind controller and print it in musical notation for later study.
Rhythm section players can mute their instrument's respective track to practice chord comping, walking bass lines, etc..
